Senior Legwear & Sock Designer
Remote | Full-Time

About the Role:
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Legwear & Sock Designer to join our growing design team. In this role, you will take ownership of the design process from initial concept through production-ready spec sheets transforming trend insights and brand direction into innovative, commercially successful sock collections.
This position combines creative design, product development, and technical execution. You'll collaborate closely with merchandising, production, and overseas manufacturing partners to bring high-quality designs to life while ensuring they are both manufacturable and cost-effective.
What You’ll DO:
• Design original sock graphics, patterns, colorways, and silhouettes across multiple brands, collections, and seasons
• Research market trends, color direction, yarn innovations, and consumer preferences to drive seasonal design concepts
• Create detailed specification sheets and tech packs in Excel, including construction details, yarn information, needle gauge, color placement, sizing, artwork, and CADs
• Create and maintain artwork utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Translate inspiration images, trend reports, and mood boards into clean, production-ready vector artwork
• Collaborate with knitting technicians and overseas manufacturing teams to ensure designs are technically feasible and execute as intended
• Review knit-down samples, prototypes, and production submissions, providing clear feedback on color, construction, fit, and overall design accuracy
• Maintain organized digital design archives, including artwork files, specifications, color standards, and sample tracking
• Partner with merchandising and production teams to align designs with cost targets, delivery schedules, and product line objectives
• Stay informed on sock, hosiery, knitwear, and adjacent apparel/accessory trends, as well as competitive market offerings
What You’ll Bring:
• Experience designing socks, hosiery, knitwear, or related textile products
• Strong portfolio showcasing original sock, knit, pattern, or textile design work
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign
• Experience creating accurate tech packs and specification sheets for overseas manufacturing
• Understanding of knit construction techniques including jacquard, intarsia, rib, terry, and related structures
• Familiarity with Pantone color systems and yarn color matching
• Strong eye for pattern development, scale, proportion, and color balance
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across design, product development, and production teams
Nice to Have, Not Required:
• Experience working within a PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system
• Knowledge of knitting machine programming or knit CAD software
• Experience working directly with overseas factories
• Traditional illustration or hand-sketching skills
• Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
