Job Description
This is a contract to hire opportunity for Accounting Associate located in Tampa, FL area to accomodate onsite schedule few times a month. Provide accounting support within the accounting department including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, posting journal entries, reconciliations, preparing for month-end closing procedures.
salary: $22 - $22.5 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Associate
Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank statements to accounting general ledger
- Assist accounting personnel with general accounting duties
- Verify, organize and store company financial records on approved company shared drives
- Deposit checks and post payments to the general ledger
- Investigate accounting discrepancies
- Cross train to provide back up support for issuing vendor payments
- Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts
- Special projects as assigned
- Assist in preparation of department procedural manual as needed
- Assist with month end close and ensure all deadlines are metPrepares analysis of accounts, as required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - AA/AS Degree in Accounting preferred or 1 year of prior accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- 1-2 years experience in QuickBooks
- Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
